How You Can Help
Volunteer
As a charity, we rely heavily on voluntary support to maintain the building and provide some of the infrastructure we need to run our projects. If you are interested in making a difference at the Farming Life Centre how about helping out with:
• Building maintenance – eg painting and decorating
• Artefact cleaning and cataloguing
• Welcoming and supporting vulnerable individuals whilst they are here
• Distributing publicity
• Making and serving refreshments
• And lots more

Become a volunteer health trainer ("friend for health")
A health trainer works on a one-to-one basis with individuals who need to improve their health – educating, encouraging, supporting, mentoring … Our health trainer project seeks to recruit 6 volunteers to take on this role and develop the skills and knowledge to help individual farmers improve their health. No previous experience necessary! To find out more, contact us.
Become a Trustee
FLC is governed by a board of 12 trustees, which oversees the running of the Centre, its projects and policies. From time to time vacancies arise and we seek to recruit new trustees who will bring relevant experience, knowledge, skills and support to the organisation. A key aspect of the governance of the FLC is that it is firmly in touch with the farming community and has first hand experience of the issues faced by farmers.
Trustees meet on a quarterly basis at the Farming Life Centre. We welcome interest from prospective trustees – Please contact us if you would like more information, or click here to view the roles and responsibilites of the Trustees.
