Strawberry Cream Tea Afternoon  {16 Jul 2008} shimAdd News28 to Scrapbook

The Strawberry Cream Tea Afternoon was a great success this year.  The sun shone on the Farming Life Centre on Sunday afternnoon, and the farmyard was soon buzzing with visitors.  The refreshments were so popular that there were queues out of the kitchen and by late in the aftenoon we had run out of scones and cake.  Apologies to anyone who was disappointed.  There was lively music and Appallachion dancing from Wicked Soles. It was lovely to see the owls that Penny brought with her, and the little ducklings!  Sue Mulroy was busy with her pots and kiln, and Simply Flowers received a lot of visitors.  The static engines provided much interest as ever. Thank you to the Peak Wool Heritage Group, Brian and Margaret Oven and Borderland Voices and the Friday Club for their fascinating displays.  Indeed, thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered on the day or came along to support us.  Well done.
